Original Oil Paintings intended to take viewers to a world of peace and tranquility - to a world long past and away from today's exceedingly fast and complex environment, to a time before the intrusion of man.
Through oil painting, I seek to capture not only what I see, but the atmosphere and feeling of being within that landscape.
For me, painting has never simply been about recording a scene. It is about capturing a feeling—the quiet light of early morning, the movement of water, the strength of ancient trees, or the peacefulness found in New Zealand's remarkable landscapes.
In my studio, I return to the landscapes that have captured my imagination — mountains, lakes, coastlines and the ever-changing light of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Each painting is an original, created with care over many hours and often many weeks. Layers of colour, texture and light are built gradually, in a traditional way, allowing every piece to develop its own unique character and depth. Working outdoors allows me to experience the atmosphere and colours firsthand before each piece becomes a finished artwork.

Below are a few of my studio oil paintings. Thoroughly enjoying painting my mountain scenes. I combine places I have visited to those in my imagaination. Therefore if a painting looks familiar, though are unsure, this may be the reason for your thoughts. To give a rest from my oils, I also undertake aerial views of oceans and land mass with resin. These will be placed on my site once completed and photographed. I hope you enjoy viewing the selection below.
