I believe I have been extremely fortunate in having received a gift in my ability to paint and each and every day appreciate this.
Since becoming a professional full-time artist, my work has been purchased by both corporate organisations as well as private individuals around the globe as well as New Zealand. A few of whom I am aware are two oil companies in Texas, a castle in Britain, wedding in Hong Kong, corporate office in Tokyo, home in the Hamptons, beach front penthouse on the Gold Coast, luxury liner, business office in the Caymen Islands, London solicitors, as well as large medical insurers.
I was especially invited to advise/assist one of the 7 mayors of Auckland City (with 6 other artists) to help compete in a mayors' art competition to see who would achieve the best artwork on a theme for their area. Assisting the past Mayor of Papakura, John Robinson, with his choice of painting, and leaving everything for him to do on his own artwork - we were voted the winner and Peoples Choice - given an award for doing so.
My work has been recorded on television to be part of a TVNZ show, I have been interviewed in newspapers, and been voted public's choice at several exhibitions. I am told you are 'going places' when your work is copied and printed? Not sure on this, however, it definitely has happened to me – three times of which I am actually aware. I was lucky in that people recognised the items and informed me and I was able to stop further use, but who knows where else?
Am invited to exhibit with the Artworks at the Hilton Hotel,which is held on the waterfront in Auckland City. A wonderful event and location, and feel privileged in that I am also one of only a very few who are also invited to place works in their prestigious 'silent auction' – each year my work has attained the prices required and successful sales achieved.
Invitations have been received exhibit overseas. Due to family circumstances, have been unable to attend, These invitations have been left open for me to take up at any time in the future.
Due to my paintings being sold via galleries, I have no idea where the final location is - therefore if you do have it would be lovely to hear on this.
